Inos Corradin (1929 - 2025)
Inos Corradin was an artist who stood out as a painter, set designer, engraver and draftsman. Born on November 14, 1929, in Vogna, Italy, he began his contact with art at a young age. He studied in Castelbaldo with the master Tardivello, where he improved his drawing and painting techniques. This initial training gave him the basis for developing a career marked by experimentation, the singular style and the chromatic wealth of his works.
In 1950, Corradin moved to Brazil and settled in the city of Jundiaí, in São Paulo. This change was decisive for his trajectory, as the country would become the great stage of his career, without, however, preventing his intense international circulation. In Brazil, he found space to grow as an artist, inserting himself in important movements and art salons of the time. His presence in these spaces showed the strength of his work and the originality of his artistic vision. Between 1954 and 1955, Corradin dedicated himself to scenography, expanding his creative repertoire and exploring the relationship between painting and scenic space. different techniques and styles. He painted landscapes, figures and still lifes, always imprinting a jocular, humorous and stylized character in his compositions. Its creative use of colors and its playful approach made each work a unique experience, at the same time sophisticated and accessible to the public.
Inos Corradin's career crossed borders and gained international recognition. He held individual exhibitions in several countries, including Italy, Israel, Germany, Switzerland, United States, Argentina, Uruguay, Holland and Canada. This intense circulation reinforced its importance in the artistic scene and projected its name as a creator who dialogued with different cultures.
In the 1980s, its performance on the international circuit was even more remarkable. In 1986, he exhibited at the Noelle Gallery in Zurich and at the Super-Saxo Gallery in Martigni, both in Switzerland. In 1987, in addition to being present at the André Art Gallery, he also exhibited at the Munsterberg Gallery, in Brasília/Switzerland, reaffirming his ability to maintain an active presence in different artistic contexts.
Throughout his career, his production was marked by the constant search for new languages and the ability to reinterpret reality with lightness and irony. This characteristic made his work a reflection of his creative personality, in which stylization and humor became tools to transmit visual messages of great impact. Banespa-Paulista Cultural Space, in São Paulo, in addition to the exhibitions “4 Decades”, in 2001, and “Paisagens do Imaginário”, in 2002, both at Nova André Galeria. These final works confirmed the solidity of his trajectory and the relevance of his contribution to the visual arts.
Each stage of his career revealed an artist who was not limited to patterns or trends. Corradin knew how to reinvent himself, without losing his aesthetic identity. This coherence in the midst of innovation was one of the elements that ensured its permanence in the Brazilian and international artistic scene over decades. Strangeness of color, the refinement of matter upon which this indefinite color encases, support of all colors, crushed and cooked juice from the solar spectrum, throbbing and soft as a living organism. Introduced by color, we oscillate between the picaresque game of styling and metaphysical space where the shapes are distributed as details of a fantastic toy. The human figure takes on the form of articulated puppets, disguising in the salt of humor the mistake and perplexity of contemporary man. The lyrical content of this painting advances in the direct progression of the constructive research of the composition, in the geometrized filter by which the shapes are measured, transforming the visible into a kind of luminous equation. Assuming, still, another scenography and a disguise that remakes the jocular timbre of the Commedia dell'Arte, Inos Corradin integrates the ex-voto, the landscape and the Brazilian man in this plastic diction, leveling all the references under the prism of a very personal language. It also coexists in it, a humor artist who is engaged perhaps in a special task of identifying the moment with an unwieldy optimism.
Documentary
The documentary “Inos” portrays the life and work of the Italian painter Inos Corradin. The film shows the entire saga of the artist, from his childhood in Castelbaldo, Italy, to his passages through Bahia, São Paulo and, finally, Jundiaí, where he performs his work until today. With remarkable testimonies from various personalities from the world of the arts, such as the painter Gustavo Rosa, the renowned art critic Jacob Klintowitz and the international dealer Carla Surian, all the fantastic stories of this citizen in the world are told by those who really lived them. The remarkable trips, the unusual contact with Jânio Quadros, his stripped way and the rich legacy parade in an informative and playful way for about 50 minutes of pure travel in the world of the arts. “Inos” is a fundamental piece, not only for art lovers, but for all life lovers.
