Diana Motta (São Paulo, Brazil - 1985)
Diana Motta is a visual artist and recently graduated from a master's degree in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His artistic trajectory includes individual exhibitions at Zipper Galeria and at the Brazilian Museum of Sculpture and Ecology (Mube), in São Paulo; at the Antônio Sibasolly Gallery, in Anápolis; at 121 Art Space in Taiwan; and at the Ivory Gate Gallery in Shanghai.
In 2025, Diana Motta presented a solo stand at the Untitled Art Fair, during the Miami Art Week. The artist also participated in group exhibitions at institutions and galleries in Brazil and the United States, including Sulk Gallery, Stasia’s Gallery and the 308 Gallery in Chicago, and the Santander Lighthouse, the André Art Gallery and the Mamute Gallery, São Paulo.
Diana Motta's artistic practice investigates the relationships between body, matter and spirit from a research on cosmology, astrology and Kabbalah. His work starts from the idea of an invisible order that connects different dimensions of existence, bringing the material closer to the spiritual, the body of the cosmos and the visible from what remains hidden. Initially dedicated to figurative painting, Diana Motta's research shifted gradually to abstraction, where the movement becomes the very center of the work.
The sinuous curves of the line and the gesture that is repeated and transformed on the canvas reveals a painting in constant creation state. His works do not represent movement: they are made of it, in a continuous flow between the visible and what remains in transformation.
