Concesse Colaço (Lisboa, Portugal, 1929)
She is a Portuguese, naturalized Brazilian tapestry artist. Daughter of Thomaz Robeiro Colaço, Portuguese lawyer and poet, and Madeleine Colaço, she inherited her mother's talent for tapestry. His parents came to Brazil in 1940 and settled in the region of Maricá (RJ). Madeleine created, in Brazil, the first Brazilian tapestry technique, which became known as the “Brazilian point”.
