Criticism
"The art of César Romero Se It is based on a constant process of synthesis around its symbols, created not to show the spiritual problems of man, but as a particular writing to say what he thinks of them and the way they live today. (...) Opting for symbolism, César Romero avoids the obvious of direct illustration and takes the spectator deciphering his motives because he affirms his themes so accurately, that his intent prevails of course. His work is an investigator and tries to discover inherent ironies when transmitting ideas, without despising the secondary aspects that contribute to the aesthetic experience. Unpredictable and, although its process is of synthesis, its technique is cumulative, using well-known forms that it adopts, adapts, modifies and combines, to give them a significant existence. (...) to accommodate the multiplicity of its messages invades other territories of creativity and will incorporate legacies of literary components or popular music. (...) also schemes of geometric and optical origin are often elaborated by their thinking. The richness of these references is deliberate and tends to balance the inspiration, exposed to the rigorous test of the conditioned experiment, which predetermines its results. What first draws attention to César Romero's work is the clean technique, the beautiful chromatic combinations that just look like that. Only then, slowly, do we pay attention to the meaning of what at first seems only form (...)".
