Victoria Serednicki (Brasilia, Brazil - 1995)
Victoria Serednicki was born in Brasília, in 1995, the city where she lives and works. He graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of Brasília (UnB), a course held between 2017 and 2023. His training in Architecture integrates his trajectory, while painting has become the main field of development for his artistic research.
The artist develops her work from the Representation of lived landscapes, memoradas and invented. Its production has as its starting point experiences, displacements and the time dedicated to observation, transforming landscape references into buildings that do not only seek to reproduce a place, but to investigate what exists beyond its appearance.
The relationship with nature plays an important role in its research. According to Victoria, immersion experiences in nature contribute to the development of her work and to her perception of the landscape. Childhood memories related to camps and trails also appear as part of their relationship with the natural world. In 2024, a trip carried out alone intensified this perception, leading it to reflect on the human dimension in the face of nature and on the connection between the individual and the environment that surrounds him.
Philosophical reflection is also one of the foundations of his production. Victoria relates the construction of her landscapes to issues of existence, addressing themes such as time, presence, impermanence and transformation. In an interview about the exhibition A Lightness of Being, held in 2025, the artist stated that time is one of the central themes of her creation, ranging from attention to everyday life to issues related to origin, end and fresh start. figurative and abstract. For Victoria, these two dimensions are not necessarily opposites, but can integrate different forms of perception of reality. In his painting, the abstract also emerges as a result of an attentive look at what is around him, when the representation is no longer conditioned only to the immediate recognition of forms.
The artist's work process combines method and intuition. In the studio, Victoria uses different procedures, based on both carefully prepared and toned bases, on which successive layers of oil paint accumulate, and of raw cotton surfaces on which she applies dilute acrylic paint. The experimentation of materials and supports is also part of its practice, which includes research on ceramics and different types of fabric.
In 2025, it presented the individual exhibition to the lightness of the being, at the Parangolé Gallery of the Renato Russo Cultural Space, in Brasília. The exhibition brought together 18 unpublished works and deepened issues related to time, contemplation, nature and perception. The paintings had a predominance of blue tones and light brush strokes, using abstraction as a means of creating a sensory experience and establishing a relationship between concrete and immaterial.
His expository trajectory also includes participation in exhibitions such as nature, in the garden Botanist of Brasília, in 2024, and, in 2023, Metrópoles Fashion and Design, at the National Museum of the Republic; tangible zone, in the Casa Galeria; tangled, in the Pictura Gallery; and eclecticism in the visual arts, at the Postal Museum. In 2022, he participated in the Itinerant Expo at home, at CasaPark.
He also participated in the Feira do Fuga, at the Valéria Pena Costa studio, in 2023, and the XLII Salão de Artes Riachuelo, at Casa Thomas Jefferson, in 2022. In 2024, he presented works at the exhibition Plants and Seeds of the Cerrado, held in the Botanical Garden of Brasília during the celebrations of the institution's anniversary.
In 2026, Victoria participated in two collective exhibitions. In the first semester, he was part of contemporary constellations, held at the Claudio Santoro National Theater, in Brasília, with unpublished works. In the same year, he participated in Rebu, at Central Galeria, in São Paulo, a collective exhibition that brought together 26 artists and had the painting as a support or central question of the research presented. Between figuration and abstraction, nature and existence, method and intuition, his painting investigates different ways of perceiving and representing what lies between the concrete experience and the realities that go beyond its immediate appearance.
